Patrick grew up on his family’s farm in South Central Kansas and then graduated from Kansas State University in 1996 with a Civil Engineering Degree. After graduation, he spent 8 years working on heavy highway and civil construction projects. For the next 15 years, he successfully managed numerous projects for his Customers in the renewable energy industry. During this time, he managed the design and construction of 3 new greenfield ethanol plants, several bolt on technology additions, a major rebuild of an entire plant, and a number of plant expansions / upgrades. In 2020, he realized his lifelong dream of starting his own company, 5R Contractors. Since then, Patrick has served as the construction manager for a major expansion at a beverage grade ethanol facility, managed a handful of renewable natural gas projects for a mechanical subcontractor, coordinated engineering projects, and served as an owner’s representative on a plant upgrade. Patrick enjoys the outdoors, cooking, watching college sports and spending time with his wife and three children.
